Holotropic Breathwork Benefits

In our fast-paced world, many are seeking more than relaxation—they’re seeking transformation. At Teva, we honor practices that go beyond the surface, reconnecting you with your inner healer, emotional truth, and a deeper sense of purpose—complementing a more complete approach to wellness beyond traditional fitness or gym routines.

One such practice is Holotropic Breathwork® (HB), a method developed by Stanislav Grof and Christina Grof. It’s not just a breathing technique—it’s a powerful gateway into expanded consciousness and personal healing.

Access Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness (NOSC)

Through deep, rhythmic breathing combined with evocative music, HB allows you to enter non-ordinary states of consciousness—profound inner landscapes where memory, emotion, and symbolic insight emerge. These states enable access to biographical, perinatal, and even transpersonal dimensions of the psyche.

HB has been described as a safe psychedelic journey without substances, offering insight into the unconscious mind and deeper layers of the self.

Emotional Healing and Trauma Release

Unprocessed trauma can live in the body for years. HB helps unlock and release emotional blockages rooted in early childhood experiences, family dynamics, or past trauma.

Research and anecdotal reports confirm the technique’s potential to support emotional catharsis and psychological integration, making it a powerful complement to traditional therapy and holistic wellness practices.

Awaken Purpose and Spiritual Connection

Many participants report a renewed connection to something greater than themselves—be it a spiritual presence, ancestral lineage, or the intelligence of nature.

In fact, studies show over 80% of participants experience a deepened sense of purpose and existential meaning following sessions.

Alleviate Anxiety and Depression

HB is linked to significant reductions in anxiety, stress, and depressive symptoms. These effects stem from both the physiological regulation of the nervous system and the emotional clarity that follows deep breath-induced journeys.

Participants often emerge with a sense of lightness, release, and renewed emotional balance.

Expand Your Sense of Identity

Holotropic states invite you to temporarily let go of ego-based identities. What often emerges is a wider, more compassionate view of the self and others—a shift from separation to interconnectedness, from survival to meaning.

Build Resilience Through Somatic Experience

HB isn’t just mental—it’s deeply embodied. The combination of breath and somatic activation strengthens your ability to self-regulate during intense emotional states, building lasting mental and emotional resilience—an essential component of overall performance and well-being.

Let the Music Guide You

Music in Holotropic Breathwork is not background—it’s a central guide. Carefully curated playlists mirror the emotional arc of the journey, helping you access and process feelings and visions with depth and clarity.

Lasting Change Through Integration

After each session, we encourage integration practices such as journaling, mandala drawing, or dialogue circles. These help ground the insights and support long-term transformation—bridging the gap between inner experience and daily life.

Healing Through Connection

HB is practiced in pairs, where one is the “breather” and the other a “sitter.” This co-created space fosters empathy, trust, and connection, reinforcing a deeper sense of human support and shared experience.

Reconnect with Your Inner Compass

At its core, HB activates your inner healer—what Stanislav Grof described as an inner wisdom that guides personal transformation. The practice teaches you to listen deeply, trust yourself, and move through life with more alignment and clarity.

A Note on Safety and Support

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful practice and should always be facilitated by trained professionals. At Teva, our facilitators provide a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed space to ensure your journey is both meaningful and well-supported—within a broader ecosystem of recovery, wellness, and human performance.

Teva Takeaway:

Oxygen isn’t just life—it’s medicine. With HBOT, we’re beginning to see how, in the right recovery and performance environment, it can heal, restore, and perhaps even extend the human experience—beyond what traditional fitness or gym routines typically address.

Operations and Performance Manager

Daniel Peralta Delgado

Behind every great training experience is someone setting the standard. At TEVA, that person is Daniel.

Daniel leads Operations and Performance, bringing experience from prestigious fitness clubs across Colombia, Australia and Canada. He holds a master’s degree in Fitness and Health Promotion and has trained in strength, endurance, nutrition, sleep and leadership. He works closely with TEVA’s trainers to develop their skills and ensure members receive knowledgeable guidance shaped around their individual goals.

His understanding of the body is personal as well as professional. After an illness left him in bed for six months, Daniel had to rebuild his own strength. That experience changed how he sees fitness: what your body can do matters more than how it looks.

He has since completed six Ironman 70.3 races, eleven marathons and twenty-three half marathons. Daniel knows what it takes to pursue an ambitious goal, and he knows that progress depends on consistency, a thoughtful plan and the right balance between training and recovery.

TEVA members have direct access to Daniel’s expertise when they are considering a challenge such as an Ironman, marathon or HYROX. He can help them assess where they are now and develop a personalised performance strategy around their ability, schedule and goals. It is an opportunity to plan with someone who has lived the preparation, the setbacks and the finish lines himself.

You do not need to be an endurance athlete to benefit from his leadership. Whether your goal is to build strength, return to exercise or feel more capable in your body, Daniel helps ensure the team supporting you has the knowledge and care to help you move forward.

Jocabed Carranza

Joca specializes in strength training and hypertrophy, holds professional training certification from CONADE, and has a particular focus on training for women.

Her method is designed to build muscle strategically, focusing on the areas that help create a stronger, more defined, and proportioned figure. She’s especially known for helping her clients build glutes and strengthen the lower body.

Joca is strict, demanding, and very clear with her clients, but she also knows exactly how to motivate them when they start doubting themselves. She’ll eliminate every excuse, hold you accountable for your decisions, and keep a bad day from turning into giving up on your goal.

Her commitment goes far beyond running a session. Joca constantly supports, corrects, and pushes every client. She’ll celebrate your progress, but she won’t let you settle for less than she knows you can achieve.

Physical Therapist

Amaya Mantilla

Amaya is a physical therapist specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Her expertise allows her to design highly personalized training programs for people with current injuries, a history of injuries, or physical limitations, helping them build strength without ignoring what their body needs.

For three years, Amaya was the “secret weapon” behind the most elite division of the Navy, making sure its members stayed in peak physical condition at all times. In an environment where the body must perform at the highest level, she combined injury prevention, rehabilitation, and physical preparation to keep them ready for any challenge.

Today she applies that same precision and attention to every client at TEVA. Amaya knows when to challenge the body, when to modify a movement, and how to build strength without letting an injury define the entire training experience.

Her sweet, gentle appearance can be deceiving. Behind it is a demanding, highly observant professional who will take care of you — but will also make you work.

She’s an excellent choice for those looking to regain confidence in their body, return to training after an injury, or follow a program designed specifically for their physical condition.
